The Nigerian Conference of Women Religious (NCWR) is a body of Religious Congregations of women in the Roman Catholic Church in Nigeria, who came together in a spirit of love and unity for the promotion of the work of evangelization, to give humanitarian services, including fighting against the modern-day slavery of trafficking in women for forced prostitution, giving material and spiritual aid to victims of national crises.
These Religious Congregations have diverse charisms and they witness to the core values of the gospel of Jesus Christ. NCWR appreciates and acknowledges the energy and shared wisdom that exists within this group and cherishes their identity as women. The membership of the Conference is open to all the major Superiors of Women Religious Institutes of Consecrated Life and Women Societies of Apostolic Life.
