2018 ASEC/SLDI Graduation



The African Sisters Education Collaborative (ASEC) in collaboration with the Nigerian Conference of Major Superiors of Women Religious (NCWR) organised the fourth graduation ceremony of Participants (Religious Sisters) of Sisters Leadership Development Initiative (SLDI) from different Congregations in Nigeria on 1st September, 2018 at the Institute for Formators, Kazong-Du, Jos Plateau State Nigeria. Ninety five Sisters from Different Congregations graduated after three years of training and learning on Leadership and administrative management and Finance Management

The opening Mass was presided over by Most Rev. Hilary Naaman Dachelem, CMF the Bishop of Catholic diocese of Bauchi and con-celebrating with him were Msgr. Cletus Tanimu who represented, His Grace, Most Rev. Ignatius Kaigama, the Archbishop of Jos Archdiocese, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Joseph Nyam and numerous priests present. The homilist, Msgr. Cletus Tanium, encouraged the graduands to put in use all the skills learnt from their various disciplines of ASEC/SLDI program and prayed that the Holy Spirit will continue to teach them new ways and help them to remember and implement all they learnt. Bishop Hilary Dachelem blessed and commissioned them to go out and bear authentic witness to Jesus through their skills and career.

During the reception, Sr. Mary Agatha Osarenkhoe , EHJ the NCWR president, and the Executive Director of ASEC Sr. Draru Mary Cecilia represented by Sr. Florence Nwaonuma, SSH in their speech respectively congratulated the graduands on their efforts and perseverance. Sr. Draru Mary Cecilia urged the graduands to be true representatives of ASEC wherever they go, bearing ASEC values of transformation, collaboration, Leadership, service, capacity building and Reverence along with the specific Charism of their Congregations. While delivering Sr. Draru's Speech; Sr. Florence Nwaonuma, SSH equally stressed on the alumni community and urged the graduands to be committed members. Equally Sr. Agatha thanked Sr. Clementina Obembe and Sr. Clare Adelakun for their untiring efforts towards the growth of this project and the ongoing construction of the ASEC/NCWR building.

There was award of certificate, ASEC gifts and Alumni Insignias to the graduands Other activities include; welcome song, cultural dance, cutting of the graduation cake, a valedictory speech by Sr. Perpetua Oloba SSL (graduands). Finally, Sr. Chiba on-behalf of Sr. Jose Maria, HFSN the Alumnae President welcomed the graduands into Alumnae Community.
